The 2020 Cochrane Community Awards is postponed to 2021 as a result of complications brought on by the COVID-19 outbreak. The awards committee’s preference is to celebrate the great people in our community and the Cochrane spirit in person, which unfortunately is not possible at this time. The prestigious Order of Cochrane however, presented by Cochrane’s Mayor and Council, will run with a call for nominations to be made in the fall.
The Cochrane Community Awards is an annual program that recognizes outstanding local citizens, community leaders, schools, businesses and organizations who help make Cochrane a great place to live. The awards celebrate and recognize outstanding achievements and contributions in our community through a total of 13 award categories, including the Order of Cochrane award. All nominees are recognized at the awards ceremony.
While the committee received several nominations this spring, we ask that you please resubmit your nominations once a new date has been determined for 2021.
The Cochrane Community Awards program is overseen by a committee of local representatives including: educators, seniors, businesses, sustainability champions, as well as the Cochrane and District Chamber of Commerce and the Town of Cochrane.
The program is funded through sponsorship from local groups and businesses who recognize the value in activities that encourage community building and making
Cochrane a vibrant place to live.
A new date for the Cochrane Community Awards will be announced in spring 2021. Sponsorship opportunities are available. Please visit www.ccawards.ca for details.
